Trip

Dear Lyric and Lyre,

Tomorrow, at an absurdly early hour that shouldn't exist, I'll be leaving for a trip. You already know I'm going because my suitcase is out, and you both know that suitcases mean. I hate to tell you this, but I'll be gone for a fair amount of time: June 10-30. I'm going to miss you both a lot! The good news is that mom and dad will still be here to take care of you. They were originally supposed to come with me, but due to dad's recent medical issues he can't. He's doing much better, but not in good enough shape for a trip from Pennsylvania to California. He also can't stay alone, so mom will be here too. I promise that, if you let them, mom and dad will pet you, scratch you, and generally love you. However, if you hide or run from them they will not chase you. I know you're not afraid of them, but you do tend to disappear when I'm not around. Please don't spend three weeks doing that. I'll miss you both so much, and I love you both dearly. I'm definitely going to be going through cat withdrawal before I get back!
